Fee Schedule

Membership renewals are due on or before September 1st of the new membership year. Members must remit their fees directly to the DTRC.

Fees are based on 1% of gross annual earnings
from the previous tax year as a dancer/interpreter, including all performance-related activity (i.e., creation, rehearsal and performance).

The annual membership fee minimum is $75 and maximum is $250.

Members in financial need may request a quarterly payment plan to remit their fees and will be considered members in good standing provided their fees are remitted on schedule.

Late Fees: A late fee of $25 must be added to renewals received after November 1st.

In Arrears & Lapsed Members: Members who do not remit their fees by September 1st are considered “in arrears” and may not access DTRC services until their fees are up to date and paid in full. Members who do not bring their membership up to date within two years will be considered “lapsed” and will lose their consecutive membership years, affecting their eligibility for grants and awards. Lapsed members may reinstate their membership, but will be governed by the membership policies in place upon their reinstatement.

Special Circumstances

We recognize that there are times in a dancer's career when employment is difficult to come by or when issues such as illness or injury impede one's ability to actively perform. Under these circumstances, membership may be honoured as long as adequate details are provided at the time of renewal. Please contact the National Office to discuss your circumstances.

On parental hiatus: Members may take up to 36 months leave from performance after the birth or adoption of a child without losing DTRC membership status or eligibility for grants. Additionally, members who are currently on a grant may take up to 36 months leave from their retraining program after the birth or adoption of a child. In both instances, dancers must keep their DTRC membership active throughout the entire hiatus by paying annual membership dues.
