The DTRC was instrumental in founding the International Organization for the Transition of Professional Dancers (IOTPD) in 1993. The IOTPD's mandate is to communicate ideas and information that deal with international issues concerning dancer transition.

As an executive member of the IOTPD, and one of the few organizations worldwide dedicated to addressing the transition needs of professional dancers, the DTRC is a highly respected resource and participant in international dialogue, conferences and research initiatives relating to dancer transition.
